Beautiful Dreamers: The Art of James & Marguerite McBey exhibition and James McBey: His Art, His World exhibition ran at the Udny Arms Hotel in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire, from March 14 to March 15 2026 and 20 Sept. to 21 Sept. 2025 respectively, and the Shadows & Light exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery from 11 Feb. to 28 May 2023.
Beautiful Dreamers: The Art of James & Marguerite McBey (2026) was curated by all four members of the Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust-sponsored James McBey Project (Phil Astley, Jane Bradford, Ron Macdonald & Alasdair Soussi).

✨17 pieces (incl. 16 original artworks) on show. ✨1st time that the McBey showstopper Zorah: Moroccan Girl Sleeping was on public display since 2023 in New York. ✨300+ visitors through the doors between Friday evening (Sept. 19) & 6pm Sunday (Sept. 21). ✨20 copies of SHADOWS & LIGHT: The Extraordinary Life of James McBey on sale. All 20 copies sold. Watch this space for more initiatives from the Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust-sponsored James McBey Project!
